Peer Review Process

Jurnal Ilmiah Kesehatan Keperawatan (JIKK) implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, objectivity, and scientific integrity of published articles.

Initial Screening
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the Editorial Office to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope
  • Compliance with author guidelines
  • Completeness of required documents
  • Plagiarism screening results

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be rejected without external review.

Double-Blind Review
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

  • Authors’ identities are concealed from reviewers.
  • Reviewers’ identities are concealed from authors.

Review Outcomes
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

Revision Process

Authors must submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe:

  • Minor revision: within 1–2 weeks
  • Major revision: within 2–4 weeks

Failure to submit revisions within the deadline may result in manuscript cancellation.

Publication Frequency

JIKK is published biannually, with two issues per year:

  • June Issue
  • December Issue

Articles are published online upon completion of the editorial and production process and assigned to the upcoming issue.

Archiving

OJS supports LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a system designed to ensure permanent and secure journal archiving. LOCKSS is an open-source software developed by the Library of Stanford University that enables libraries to preserve selected journal websites by collecting regular backups of newly published content and archiving them.

Each archive is continuously validated against other participating library caches. If any content is found to be corrupted or lost, it can be restored using data from other caches or journal sources within the LOCKSS network, thereby ensuring long-term preservation and content integrity.

Open Access Policy

JIKK is a fully Open Access Journal.

All articles are freely available to readers immediately upon publication without subscription or access fees.

This work is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Under this license:

  • Readers may share and adapt the material for any purpose.
  • Proper credit must be given to the original author(s).

JIKK believes that open access enhances knowledge dissemination and supports global academic exchange.

Manuscript Cancellation

A manuscript may be cancelled or withdrawn by the Editorial Board under the following conditions:

  1. The author fails to submit revisions within the specified deadline.

  2. The author does not respond to editorial communication for more than 4 weeks.

  3. Ethical violations are identified (e.g., plagiarism, duplicate submission).

  4. False information is provided during submission.

If cancellation occurs after acceptance due to ethical misconduct, the manuscript will be formally withdrawn and documented.

Pending Author

If authors do not respond to editorial correspondence during the review or production process:

  • The manuscript status will be marked as Pending Author.
  • The Editorial Office will send up to two reminders within a 2–4 week period.
  • If no response is received after the reminder period, the manuscript may be cancelled.

Authors who wish to reactivate a cancelled manuscript must submit a formal request to the Editor-in-Chief.
